… Please note that this group is not a venue for beginners setting out to learn hiking. You do need to have some solid experience in hiking/backpacking before you consider committing to a Mt. Rainier summit attempt - which is the focus of this group. Mt. Rainier is a dangerous and challenging environment, and it needs to be treated with the utmost respect. Having said that, folks with the proper skills, equipment, and appropriate level of physical conditioning should not have any difficulty in sum …
Welcome! Our hiking group is large and diverse, with regular well attended hikes. Some are quick, short hikes close to the city, while others are on less-traveled hiking trails a bit further off the beaten path. We also have regular dragon-boat practices on Lake Union with the Seattle Flying Dragon Boat Club four times per week. Dragon-boating is a great way to get in shape, meet new people, and have fun outdoors year round no matter what the weather is like! For more info on dragon-boating, …

Welcome! Come meet other local photographers who also have a love of nature. We plan to schedule a mix of day trip hikes and overnight backpacking to more remote locations. Hikes are generally tough, but will be at a photographer's pace to allow time to compose those great shots along the trail. Once we reach our destination we usually stay on location in order to make the most of golden light and sunset, hiking back under cover of dark with headlamps. Landscape and nature photography is …

Hiking Journeys 40 Plus is geared for people age 40 and over who are in the beginning stages of the hiking experience. Welcome to the Midweek Hiking Meetup Group. As the name implies, hikes will be offered only on weekdays, never on Saturdays or Sundays. If you are retired (like me), have some weekdays off, or just get sick a lot on sunny work days, then this is the group for you. I will concentrate on day-hikes in the Cascade Mountains along the I-90 corridor and also Mt. Rainier. These areas are way too crowded on weekends and are best enjoyed in the relative peace and quiet of a weekday. Most hikes will be …
This is a group for people who like to get out exploring with their dogs. Hikes and walks will mainly be scheduled for the Seattle area and north. You do not need to own or bring a dog to join us, you just need to be willing and comfortable hiking with dogs. I am not an experienced guide, but over the past year have done a number of hikes and am wanting to find others that are passionate about getting out as well. I am open to suggestions about where to go and what to do. What's More Important …

My daughter and I started this group because we love to trail ride, a bit of hiking and want to invite others to join us on some rides and hikes. We have gaited horses, so we do some gaiting and some cantering, but trotting horses are welcome. We do not provide trailering services or horses for those people who want to ride but do not have their own horse. However, if you have a horse, transportation and like to ride Squak Mountain and Taylor Mountain, please join up. We can explore Cougar a …

Some international trips to Europe, S. America, & Africa will be planned as well. Winter months will y …

Walking is a great activity to help you meet your health and fitness goals. It is a wonderful way to see new places and meet fun people. While this is mainly a walking group, we occasionally post other fitness activities such as hiking, biking or kayaking. Most of our events are on the eastside, including (but not limited to) Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville, Sammamish, Issaquah and Mercer Island. Every once in a while we will post an event in Seattle or elsewhere. We like routes that …

… Although the predominate purpose behind the group is to hit the trails, I would also like to encourage photographers to join. Especially if you're good and can give me pointers. Activities should range from simple hikes that anyone could do to spring training hikes for those with ambitious summer plans to multi-day backpacking and camping. I would also be interested in meeting some people with sailing crew experience to get out on the water.

Welcome to the Eastside Hikers Meetup!! If you enjoy hiking, and are in decent shape, but prefer to stroll along slowly enjoying the views, composing photographs, or stopping to hunt down an elusive Geocache, then you will love this group! We focus on hikes that have 1000-3500 feet gain, but we sometimes do higher elevation gains for experienced hikers looking for a challenge. If you can do 5 miles on flat ground and not be winded you are ready to attempt a vertical hike of 600-1000 feet as yo …

This is an extended club group for people who want to initiate or find an impromptu ad hoc hike of anywhere from one hour to one day. During the winter I wonder if a hike could include snow shoes or skiis if it was on a nice flat trail?
We live in such a beautiful part of the country, and our group is about helping us get out, enjoy and explore it ... and helping us make friends along the way! Many of our events are based on the Kitsap Peninsula and Olympic National Park. We welcome any who would like to join us -- we are a friendly group of women of all ages, sizes, orientations and fitness levels. We primarily plan hiking, walking, snowshoeing, biking and camping events, but we aren't limited to this. If you have an idea f …
